Cholecystectomy is the process of gall bladder removal through gall bladder surgery that has been infected or filled with gallstones. Gallbladder is an organ beside the liver, which helps in breaking down the fats and helping in relieving the toxins out of the body through bile. It

Foods should be devoid of trans fat and hydrogenated fat which means no processed foods and margarine. Vegetables that can cause gas formation like broccoli and cabbage need to deleted from the diet.Alcoholic, caffeinated, and carbonated drinks are best when avoided for cholecystectomy patients.

The diet should be such that it keeps the digestive process in good condition and helps to control the reoccurrence of stones. Eating small meals at regular intervals can help the body to regulate the bile juice production. Usually six mini meals are advised but this can be altered according to the patient’s preference. Intake of liquids is very essential, preferable high calorie liquids like juice and broth.

The most common side effect after gall bladder removal surgery is diarrhea, bloating, and gas. This is averted with the help of a proper and healthy diet schedule.
