Most of the weight loss surgery centers in the USA have a dietitian to suggest the foods that can be taken by the person who has undergone surgery.

The role of a dietician is important in these cases. Otherwise the patient is tempted to take junk foods that are of no use and they complicate the situation.

Nutritional supplements are also taken throughout the life of the person who has undergone surgery. This is to avoid the complications of gastric bypass surgery.

The need for these supplements is due to the bypassing of the initial tract length in the intestine and this leads to the less absorption of the most needed vitamins and minerals.
