Single Port Access surgery is the latest laparoscopic surgery procedure. A small cut made near the navel aids the surgeon to operate with minimal invasive procedure. There are no sutures made in this process.

This type of surgery is not applicable for all patients. When the gallstones are too big, the gallbladder is exceptionally inflamed and has some complications an open surgery is a better solution. This surgery is not suitable for people who have had previous abdominal surgeries or any other medical problem.

Laparoscopic surgery is expensive and cannot be opted by all, as the special equipments of this surgery are very costly. Skilled and competent surgeons should perform this type of keyhole procedure for desired results. Not all hospitals have the necessary funds to provide the facility for this laparoscopic surgery.

However, despite of all the demerits laparoscopic cholecystectomy is widely popular in the medical field.
